AU. I hate to think of yet another change, but the evidence shows that UL isn't working out. Acadiana University solidifies the Ragin' Cajun brand, ends the war, and reminds the world that all things Acadian come from here, not Baton Rouge, Monroe, or Shreveport.

UL may not be working on a national level but it is for the younger generation in this area and state. Louisiana was gaining so much ground on a national level until now. As Jay pointed out all we needed was ESPN and our conference on board.

It's because its a multi-option vote. Each is a percentage of total voters that voted for the option

LA works just fine. There is no LA in college sports. Plus all pro teams that are in LA use their mascot as the next letter (LAL, LAD, LAC, LAK, etc)

There is the lazy version but in general Los Angeles is L.A.

The most viewed abbreviation of Louisiana ever, comes in everyones mail. Starting in 1963 it has became La. Then the National standard of all caps all two letter abbreviations "LA" was implemented in 1987.

Well it is legal and no I haven't seen it mentioned till now.

IF it is a 2-4 letter abbreviation used only for stats... I'd think ULAL would keep announcers from saying "ull". And when it comes FOX &CBS the bottom line would still say LOUISIANA.

Has LOUL been suggested? I don't really like it but anything is better than UL-L.
