A second straight pitching gem by UL's Ashley Brignac and another Ragin' Cajun win proved one thing to Florida Atlantic softball coach Joan Joyce: In her opinion, preseason Sun Belt favorite UL is the best team in the conference this season.

"There's no question about that," Joyce said after Thursday's 4-0 win by the 17th-ranked Cajuns in conference play at Lamson Park. "(UL) was picked before the season started to be the best, and they showed they were again today."
