Don't be surprised or alarmed if you see a great deal of activity for about ten days and then none for four or five days. I would suspect that the work crew is itinerant and they work for ten days straight and take four or five days off to go home.

I hope the school is going to address the entire stadium's crisp look. (ie your teeth don't look so yellow until you stick a white crown in there next to them).

In reality, any visual and/or maintenance improvement to anything at the school is nice... but I wouldn't care if we played in a mud pit if we were a winning football program.
Scott Farmer indicated to me that the stadium would be cleaned up before the start of the season. What that exactly entails, I don't know.

I'd be curious to know what type of drainage system "if any" is installed and how much of job it is to put in. I know for a baseball field it is a massive job... just not sure for football. anyone knows?. thanks..

Scott also told me that there would be a stadium cleaning after the turf was installed.

Leeman, go take a look at mcneese's turf installation pics, or any of the turf websites and you can see what the drainage is like. We're using ProGrass by the way, so peruse their site.

From what I've seen, the drainage is pretty extensive with some companies, but maybe not as muc with others.

Because the Swamp is not only 2 feet below sea level but 20 to 30 feet below the surrounding area it has a fantastic drainage system built in.

I hope they were able to capitalize on this to save some money.

A lot of fields that are ground level only had to worry about direct rain runoff. Not only does the swamp have to handle direct rain but the majority of the runoff from the stands. Other above ground stadiums could just direct it out the stadium, not so with the Swamp. For that reason the ground has had to deal with a lot more water and thus the mud problem. Not because the drainage system couldn’t get rid of the water but because dirt is absorbent and retains water.

With the new turf the surface won't be absorbent like the dirt and grass was. So imo the superb drainage system in place will be better than it needs to be.

If the river ever gets backed up we are screwed. The pumps and drainage go directly into the Vermillion River.

    Default How we doin?

    Turf going in?

Stadium being cleaned and spruced up?

Any changes in the weight room?

Any word on the apparel contract?

I have been away, and tried to read up on posts, but figured I would just ask...
