June 21, Sat...The crew works for 7 PM to 7 AM. About ten working with the supervisor. His name is Kevin Ford from Clear View, Tx. and has been doing this work for 25 years. I will take a group pictures of the crew later. I talked to them about this and they seem to appreciate the fact that someone would do this. Rhineaux was there with either his wife or girlfriend or just a friend. I'm sure some of you know which one. All the turf should be finished tonight. I don't know about the side lines though.
Frenchie:
When I talked to the supervisor yesterday, he said that nothing will be painted. All the lines and hash marks and logos are made of the same material as the turf and will be glued down in case it need to be changed. How that's done I don't know. If you have a bowl game they will put the names of the teams in the endzone. NFL game they can move the hash marks in. No paint at all....
If they do it like they did with our installation, every hashmark, sideline marker, yardline numbers, letters in the endzone and even the yellow dotted lines, that everybody is supposed to stay behind on the sidelines, were laid out, the turf underneath it cut back, and then they were glued down by the mother of all glue guns.
Check the pictures at the end of the page on the following link to see pictures of how they were doing it. Nothing was painted at all.

That field's going to be gorgeous when it's finished. Now if we could make some other improvements (new scoreboard, renovate and/or put bleachers in the tunnel endzone, knock down that non-functioning scoreboard in that endzone, brick the field wall, etc.) over the next couple years, that facility will be NICE.
Agreed. A scoreboard that doesn't crap out in the middle of games with a bigger screen. And something nice to replace the non-working scoreboard would be a step in the right direction. I'm not sure if bleachers would be the best bet at this moment since we can not fill the stands we have now. And I am not the biggest drumline/ drummer show fan in the world but I am def. going this year just to get a look at the field.
