--------Well if one would take a little bit of inductive or deductive logic maybe we could answer this name situation---But I guess before going through the process I would have to have VOB's definition of what being "Sold down the river " is in this case---Say for instance the reason with the name situation was for a higher job which in many cases are reasons that a top official changes directions--OH he was the top guy and in all the years never lived anywhere but in Lafayette and stepped down a couple of rungs on the ladder for the president's position at UL---guess that isn't the reason---Well VOB tell us with a reasonable explanation why he would "sell us down the River"!!!!--------And AGIAN I want the full low down on what happened but your thoughts are I think unfounded--but waiting for that definition!!!

----Well I remember before bowl time how many on here came out and blasted the administration for taking the NO Bowl---you remember people????? Now that the initial sting is numb, I know nobody has stated such, but it does not take a Mensa membership to take under consideration the high probability T-Joe was squeezed politically. And we probably will never know by who or when. T-Joe cannot say squat about it.

Hammer, have you heard about an effort to organize some type of protest on the name situation at the signing day celebration? Your post indicates that may be the case.

No. I just think TJoe is naive to think he can just remain silent on this matter and expect it to go away. If that is the course of action he takes I believe he will be peppered with questions from Cajun fans if he shows up at the signing day bash. It would be better to get out in front of this now and clear the air.

Can he clear it up? Is he being pressured from ULS, and politician? You gotta pretty much keep your mouth shut on that. That is when you leak stuff so there is not direct source.

If not he has no viable answer for this total can of worms. I mean if he thought this was an internal thing only for SBC stats, and NCAA records then it lines right up there with the pinky promise to not leave the SBC that he and Farmer claim they believed. In that event you really want to play stud poker with those two guys.

There are many decisions and actions that fall in between doing nothing/being silent... and stepping so far out of the political bounds of his job that he either causes greater damage to the university or places his position in peril.
