Because "Acadia" is in Nova Scotia, Canadia (I think Nova Scotia used to be called "Acadia"); and "Acadiana" is the South, Central parishes in Louisiana.
Well Acadia refers to the culture in each of these regions. People living in Acadia are called Acadians or Cajuns after the resettlement in south louisiana.
I could see why trying to use Acadiana might be the best first option but If we have to create a special tax district I say we go for Acadia all the way
This still isn't right.
We're "Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns" -- as if "Louisiana" is an adjective; like "African Elephant"
While everyone else is just "Vandals" or "Warhawks"
First reference should be "Louisiana." Whatever. All we essentially did was remove a hyphen and shove a "Louisiana" in front of our mascot name. Too tired to care.
Geaux UL Lafayette Louisiana Ragin Cajuns!
No disagreement but a comment on point #2, Benson is well aware of the name issue and what a hot button issue it is. So for him to try to pass it off as "Oh well, I didn't hear any objection" is disingenuous at best and in truth just outright bull____. The University stated what their preference was and he rejected it.
I'm the "someone" who called her a cancerous skank and I have no regrets. And yes I am aware of her "health history". Big ____ing deal. That isn't a shield that protects her. She wanted a fight, she's got it. And there are no "lines" in a street fight. She wanted to crawl in the gutter, she better expect to get some ____ on her. So ____ that cancerous skank.
