Well said Jay.
They need to change ULL/UL-L to ULA. Done. Over. Duh!

Jay, I know a lot of talk is being made about the 3 letter abbreviation or whatever, but what about the first reference ul lafayette? Why is this even a reference? Why not say Louisiana and that's it. I am sure there is good explanation and was curious if you knew. Regardless great read
It is like a big train... doesn't slow down/change so quickly.
Maybe there is a problem with ULA... so what about just LA, like Jay said in his blog?
Hell, we could let the Monrovians think the LA stands for Lafayette.
There ya go! Everybody happy now. Let's put this to bed.
Thanks Jay.
It seems like this is actually pretty damn fixable. What's stopping the Sun Belt from re-issuing the guidelines with LA?
Still very confused on the "nickname" being "Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns"...
Are other schools using similar names there? Is it "Warhawks" in the guidelins, or is it "ULM Warhawks"?
Seems important to move quickly rather than let UL-L sink in.
ULA works
ULa works
Also, I personally think UL^ is cool. (The last digit is a "caret," which is available on all keyboards.)
If you squint, it looks like an A that is far off in the background. ...beats the hell out of UL-L.
UL^
But whether we go with ULa, ULA or UL^, we should fix it quickly.
UL is on TV more than ever and just a cursory viewing tells you cannot get away with "The University does not have a two to four letter abbreviation."
LA is the 2 second no brainer that complies with everything and violates nothing.
Louisiana = LA
Even the postal service agrees.
Good read Jay, as usual.
