ULA violates the law? ok, What if LSU-Alexandria one day becomes UL-Alexandria, Would ULA not be allowed for them? Could the current law ever be changed so that the city tag or region be acceptable? That would make it possible for us to be ULA. I'm just so tired of all this crap. This school is over 100 years old and we are still trying to figure out what its called. Just pick something and be done with it already! What is worse about this 'new' abbrevation is that I've never seen 'UL-L' written like that before. Has anyone? This is a totally new way of writing it to add to more confusion.

If LSU ever treats Alexandria like it has treated all it's other growth blocker bots throughout history, then yes ULA would be a legal option for them.

It would also be legal for Acadiana. The law says "geographic location" not city, so yes Acadiana is a geo location.

Yeah, I dont know how they managed to get a correction in and still screw it up. The mascot is not what needed to change. The first reference needed to be Louisiana and the Abbreviation clearly needed to be changed. How stupid.

crawfish, while i dont out right disagree with ya, the truth is that a response to a huge back lash, daily advertiser reporting, sports radio announcements, this appears to be nothing more than a bucket of water poured on top of a raging fire. Until we see some type of administrative dissparoval that screams " THIS IS BULL ____", its still lip stick on a pig. At the end of the day, us fans can read behind the line that the hoax is being pandered to and we are just a University in a garbage conferfence that gets no love whatsoever. UL is on TV more than ever and just a cursory viewing tells you cannot get away with "The University does not have a two to four letter abbreviation."

LA is the 2 second no brainer that complies with everything and violates nothing.

Louisiana = LA
