If I were at Martin's place and could pen a response on the fly . ... it would go something like this.

Our goal going back over four decades has been to become the University of Louisiana, nothing has changed in that regard.

It is common knowledge that we would refer to ourselves as UL as an introduction, but current law prohibits us from doing so as a first term reference, and not until our full legal name has been established in context.

The legal first use exceptions are Louisiana and Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns.

It is important to note; nothing prevents the Sun Belt from using Louisiana and or UL as first phrase references.

Since anything is better than the current name disaster, I'll say it again. You can say it sounds like a juco, or whatever you want. I'll say it's better than the mess we have. Auburn may have sounded cheesy 100 yrs ago..

While no doubt Savoie is more supportive of Cajun athletics than his predecessor, he still runs Martin Hall the same way. No communication. Everything tight-lipped.

That's how we do things here. I don't agree with it but actions always speak louder than words, and that's what we're all seeing.

We're all ____ed off, we have a right to be. And as it would be nice to see us use that emotion to trigger a positive movement, I don't know how much longer anyone is willing to fight at this point.

Oh I agree with you 100%. I'm only trying to understand why he made the choice that he made. But yes you are right, this was all lost long before this statement was released.
