An Alumni Weekend that started with such promise for UL's baseball team ended in pure frustration.

UL Monroe rocked the Cajun bullpen for 10 runs in the final two innings on Sunday for a 14-4 win in the third and final game of a Sun Belt series at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.

After losing Friday, the conference-leading Warhawks won the final two games to take the series from the preseason Sun Belt favorite.

"Our bullpen collapsed," said UL coach Tony Robichaux, who remains one win shy of 500 with the Cajuns. "We fought a little bit, but in inning two, three, four and five they (ULM) put up zeroes on us.

"On a Sunday, you've got to swing the bat like they did and your bullpen cannot collapse."
