Tony's Record 726-451 (61%) Competes for national title
    Bustle's Record 26-44 (37%) Can't compete for sunbelt title

    Just shut up man.

What is your reasonable expectations, Super Regionals? That is not reasonable.

Reasonable expectation is Regional appearance 3 out of 4/5 years, with a fighting chance to advance to a Super Regional. It takes a special season even for the top teams to reach the CWS.

Since 2001 we have had 3 regionals in 6 years. That is pretty damn close to reasonable expectations. Hell LSU has trouble making back to back regionals lately. I think your "reasonable expectations" are a little unreasonable.

    To expand on his numbers:

    Tony as Cajun Coach:
    499-316 61%
    239-130 in Conference 65%

Tony is a proven consistent winner. Cajun4Life please find another tree to bark up.

Our prior coach was Mike Boulanger.....who scheduled baseball camps the same weekend as the CWS. Yeah right this guy had some pretty high standards!

Not to mention leaving town in the middle of the night and getting black balled by the NCAA.

Simple amazing how we can't appreciate what we have in Cajun baseball.

I do appreciate the programs that we have that succeed, but I do not settle for mediocracy when I know as well as everyone on this board knows we should be better. I am just willing to criticize the sacred cow(baseball) and you guys are not.

Boulanger won just as Tony has won. Tony has had more success in the post season. I am not calling for Robe's head here, but I will still hold him to a standard in which we should be in regionals 4 out of 5 years and supers often enough to be mentioned with the big time programs. We are not a bigtime program like Tulane and Rice.

You guys seem to be happy with a good record one year and a so so record the next. I am not. Kids leave a program every year all over the country yet the great programs always reload and we are not a great program. Baseball is our only mens sport that has a realistic chance at winning a National Title and i want us to be as good as we can be.

Last years team was a great team who could not find a way to win on Sunday and lost 2 in a row to A&M. We were the better team IMO. We lost last night to NSU because we are underperforming and that is the Coach's fault.

Look the CWS was great, but 3 regionals on 8 years (including this year) ain't getting it done. He set the standard from 97-00. We expect success. The program's consistency is the problem. No single year - when we lose in a regional should be the demise of the program or coach.

Consistent good years, with ocassional exceptional years, are what we should expect from the program. That is not an unrealistic expectation.

Including this year, Tony has 7 Regionals in 14 years. Thats pretty damn good. How many other programs from Mid Major conferences can say that? Hell how many programs outside the Top 10-15 can say that?

At least someone else gets what I am trying to say on this forum. From 97-00 our teams were really good and it showed, but with the exception of last years team we have not lived up to expectations.

Okay, enough of this complaining about Robe underachieving. Who is the first to call for his being fired for not living up to standards that satisfy them?

    WHO???

Look... I don't want to join the argument as to whether Coach Robe has done this or that... or if he has or hasn't accomplished enough during his time.

My only comment would be that a year like this one will possibly set up back quite a bit (although, like all of you, I hope I'm wrong about that). We did not sign the last couple of years the level of talent that we THOUGHT we had signed, which now means we need to bring in additional talent to "get it done". That means they have to come in and take time to learn the system and so forth.

Bottom line... we could be in for a less than favorable year next year... and even the one following THAT!
