We were the first ones to offer the kid early in his junior year. We only pulled the offer right before fall signing period because the family would not make a decision. We held a scholarship for him for nearly 15 months.
The good news for Trey is that he will have a chance to start at UTEP since they just dismissed three guards the NCAA and FBI were investigating. I do wish the kid the best of luck and think he is a great player.
JUst wondering--who is the better 3 point shooter ??? He or Register??
If Touchet had accepted the offer we made initially, he would be here. Delaying his decision is what cost him the chance to play here. No harm done as he will play for a good coach in Floyd and may benefit from the experience of being away from home and seeing different cultures. Note the scholarship which could have gone to Touchet went to Jonathon Stove who is higher rated than Touchet in some circles. I don't know which player will have the more successful college career but I suspect both will do well.
marlin had high praise for all 3 of our recruits ----- so who can shoot 3s better Touchet or Register---Marlin says that Register is lights out in practice and will eventually be doing that in games???
A lot of what has been said is true. Becomes a case of you snooze you lose. Just still disappointed, but will get over it at the game Saturday. Thanks for all the feedback. Now Geaux Cajuns!!! Win the Conference.
