HUD and Vandy

What happened with Tulane? Offer vs no offer...we won.

Offer and acceptance vs. Counter Offer and acceptance would be more appropriate----Tulane offered and HUD basically agreed and T-Joe went balls out and I think got him back with less money but promises that are being delivered and being worked on now!!! Say what you want but I really don't think that Hud envisioned the wave of response that the Cajun Nation has given him---and I say that W/O really knowing that as a fact but man bringing 45K to NO----Obviously so much is do to HUD but we have been an accident waiting to happen for so long with so much potential ----why not now---it is about time for somebody to get it right and have all the stars lined up----Stokley had it right but with the wrong president!!!!

Would Hud have signed an extension if presented to him before the bowl game, which keep in mind, was weeks before he was ever rumored for any head coaching jobs?

I understand he most likely wouldn't have from about the first of the year until now, because that's when a lot of movement began to occur. But who's to say he wouldn't have 2-3 weeks prior to 1/1/14? Keep in mind his name was thrown around when Louisville opened up at or around 1/5 and then Vandy over the past week or so.

I think that's why some blame the administration. Because they feel like an offer/extension should have been on Hud's desk more than a month ago. Like conference realignment, those in charge of "running" UL athletics should be as fully prepared for the trickle down effect as possible.

His name was mention throughout the year by every reported and his brother saying how he was destined for a bigger job. Hell after his first year the sky is falling crowd was yelling out to the NCAA....PLEASE DONT TAKE HUD yet. From day one when people reacted to him he knew he was negotiating from a position of power. The Last second win by Baer sealed the deal. He knows his worth...he know his time here is short...he know a BCS conference is within his grasp...if not this year it will be in the very near future. You all a hell bent is nailing the AD and President for something that I think is way beyond their control. HUD will go when he wants to go...no extension will stop him and the sooner we come to realize this the sooner we can move onto supporting the new guy, if there will be one, or supporting HUD and the new class of recruits.

That's not the point. Hud is going to do what is best for him and his family. The point is our admin, once again just as in conference realignment, didn't even ____ing try.

And as Turbine pointed out, who knows what he would have signed had this been presented to him in December? There were people who said FAU didn't have a shot at CUSA, yet their admin made the effort and it paid off. I'm sure there were many who thought Gus Malzahn who was constantly mentioned for SEC jobs wouldn't take the ArkState job, but he did. Those ADs didn't think small or drag their feet.

Mason is a perfect choice for Vandy, speaking without bias. Stanford and Vandy are similar academic institutions and he's been being groomed for a while.

I'd rather hear that he has one in hand that he won't sign rather than he is still waiting to read it. For a man that get criticized so much, Scott farmer sure brings a lot of it on himself.

I also think having a minority coach helps Vandy when it comes to recruiting. Helps combat some of the stereotypes associated with schools like Vandy. Especially a guy from a similar institution.
