If Hud ever leaves, there will be a stampede of young, hot-shot coordinators looking to make a name for themselves. Hud and the RCAF have made this job a hot commodity in the coaching ranks.
If anyone doubts the caliber of applicants we would get, just look to Jonesboro. They have had unbelievable success, and that job is not as attractive as this job.
I agree to this. He has NO signature wins and the loss to ulm and usa should not have happened. It cost us an outright Conference Championship. Those 2 games showed me the coaching staff's inability to learn from film. I watched usa beat ulm and they pressured Browning the whole game, where was our pressure on their QB in both ulm and usa, NONE. This has been a aggravation for me these last few weeks.
Coach Hud is the Man, but the honeymoon is over. WE need to separate ourselves from the rest of the Sunbelt or we won't move up.
I believe things will get better but I am not happy with our Pass Defense or our Pressure defense. Knowing many of you watched Bowl games this year and pressure defense on the QB was used by many winning teams, aka, OK vs AL.
was one that comes to mind.

You don't need signature wins to get a job. I'm not sure where this notion comes from. Coaches get jobs based on their connections to the school doing the hiring and the AD has to be able to say something at the podium when they hire him.
What signature wins did Bryan Harsin have as a head coach, Gus Malzahn, Hugh Freeze?
Here is what the AD says at Hud's next job. We hired a guy who has won everywhere he has been. He was the head coach at one of the most successful Division II programs in the country, was an assistant with an SEC program at Mississippi State and helped lay the foundtion that allowed that program to go on an unprecedented bowl streak, and took over one of the worst Division I FBS programs in the nation and made them the only non-power conference school to win 3 consecutive bowl games in his first three years as a head coach.
