For me this is priority ONE.

Preferably not at a school awash in money.

ps I hope this issue is a long way off.

And how well does he recruit? Does he have the connections and ties to high schools and Juco's that other coaches have after more experience?

Exactly. Point I'm making is that all coaches will have positives and negatives associated with them and you just have to find the right fit. That could be a no name asst, a name coordinator or a smaller division HC but if you find the right fit then it doesn't matter where they came from. The one thing I look at is do they have recruiting ties in the south and I prefer a guy with HC experience. AND no Ed Ogeron! He would be a cancer for the program and would leave us on probation.

Clint Conque is climbing the ladder after moving to Stephen F Austin. Could this be his springboard into FBS? I think he should be looked at if Hud moves on next year.

Conque's reputation [perhaps deserved, perhaps not] is that of Orgeron lite, and not necessarily in a good way.

If the guy can coach a winner...I say bring him in. Orgeron is in a class all by himself. I would cringe if he would become our head coach...but I would prolly end up loving that big goofy sum_____...FOOTBAW!!!
