I have not seen any at EKL since Hall left. I have seen some at the Dome.

T, I can agree with that to a point, and I certainly agree that he has done much better with guards than with post players, but even our guards are generally undersized. I know that is not as important in the women as it is in men's hoops, but good big players are still better than good small ones.
I thought not hiring B-head the last go around was crazy with the exception of maybe getting Dobbie Plaisance--He made the McNeese program I think all know this and they did it with a philosophy and belief that he has brought to UL---Smaller quicker players with great defense and offensive speed to win in transition (JJ wouldn't have been high on their list to recruit) ------ But I am with VOB on this that height is a necessity just because of the nature of the game and rebounds that it will get you---Don't want to argue about it and hope he proves me dead wrong!!!
You do realize there isn't just a ton of really big athletic female basketball players walking around? We can't even find one for men's and we have a storied history. Women's has a long history of being terrible. Give the man time, he is winning with under sized players. There is also another female sport that a lot of tall girls play instead...volleyball.
He's stated before that those players just arent available. He'd rather take smaller girls that can actually play than just taking size with very little skill. From what he's said in interviews, it's something he's learned since he was in the SLC and now here. Many of the better teams at this level recruit mostly talented ballhandling players. The girls that are really tall and skilled end up at Big XII and SEC schools. You can find more decent big players on the men's side but the numbers arent there in the ladies game.
Anna "Amazonka" Petrakova
Must have a recruiting budget.
Turb, in Brodhead's defense, Anna was a case like Elfrid is for the men. 16 years old when she got here, and an unknown quantity. Those don't come along every day for any program.
People, I am not unhappy with us for hiring Brodhead, and I am not unhappy with his performance here as a coach. I am just stating the obvious; that he has not been able to recruit athletes with size and it will keep us from being a real contender in this conference if that does not change over the next couple of years.
I have also stated that I agree with his scheduling strategy to attempt to get a better won/loss record to attract better/bigger athletes.
Had we hired him instead of Rogers, we would never have fallen as low as we did, and I believe that he would have been able to recruit successfully before now.
Nix it.
