I saw that. Moore should have gotten in front of that Eagle's linebacker. Brees will never blame anyone else. He will say things like 'We didn't execute' when there are bad routes, or dropped balls.

But hey Moore made up for it with a TD.

Also Jimmy Graham should have slowed down to catch that ball in double coverage in the End Zone.

Yeah, it's really tough to criticize Elmo.

99 times out of a 100 dude runs a great route and catches the ball. He's so precise I think he catches balls that should really be thrown to players much larger than he is.

I think that's been the problem with the offense last couple games. Not enough of him.

I think it's a mix of both. Brees has thrown some bad passes of late that you have to hang on him. He threw passes directly at a stationary defender. I also think a couple of his INTs were more attributed to pressure, route breaks, etc. But, you can never go by what Brees says. He's too classy and too much a team leader to not take full blame. Some teams simple have too many assets on defense to necessarily blame the Saints offense. The Saints OL isn't great, and I think some Saints WRs aren't working as hard because Brees, although he does distribute the ball, he's prone to dumping it off to Sproles, and/or looking for Graham. I'm sure they'd deny that... but I think that has happened.

I'm starting to think that maybe defenses have figured out that Brees' vision is based on motion, like a T-Rex. If you plant in the right spot, he'll never see you and throw it right to you.

I know you have been around football a long time. Have you been in situations where the coach decided to let them score?

I've seen it before on television years back. College game, shoot out. I was think same thing last night, Eagles should have let the Saints score at the 2 minute warning. But then again, would the Saints been smart enough to get to the one and take a knee?

I was asked if I had ever seen/done this (letting someone score) no but experience and age can be wonderful teachers---Zoom Zoom ----the idea is to not let the opponent know that you are letting them score---but I do remember Dez's great run against one of the FLA twins that they came back to win with a minute!!! Could have gone down at the 1" line!!!

The stat on winning while losing the turnover margin was something like 16/195. Good thing games are won on the field instead of the stat sheet, right TOOLAME?

Cajuns lost the turnover margin, and the Saints did too. Both won. To simply parrot the turnover margin winning games without looking at the causes is foolish. Most teams losing turnover margins are in fact the inferior teams. They usually lose anyways. The Cajuns and the Saints were both superior to their opponents.

Cajuns won the TO battle in the NO Bowl. We had three picks and they had two.

Of course Drew took responsibility. That's what a great leader does! I thought the second INT was on him, but the first was mostly on the WR (Stills?). The ball was under thrown, but there was zero adjustment to come back for the ball. Certainly a negative at the time but I think that's something they can learn from (+).

The Saints offense line may not have been as big a problem as most of us think. Play calling may have been as big a problem. Payton and Brees refusing to run the ball may a big part of the problem. Hopefully they have learned that running the ball is an essential part of the passing game.
