Not so nice on the Monroes Scout sight---The Louisiana WARHAWKS after beating ULL in Football by a ???? score---defeated them tonight in B-ball!!!! We can't afford to lose these --IFWE WANT to move up ---these results are devastating to what we are trying to get to!!!
Louisiana is ULM's 'Super Bowl' in all sports.
Because of this UL must always be prepared.
You can never consider yourself to be a GOOD team if you lose to ULM, at least this ULM team, and the ULM football team we lost to a few weeks back. To advance thoughts like they want it more, it is their super bowl is to camouflage our utter failure.
We still have miles to go before we can consider ourselves a good team, some of us need to quit worrying about RPI. WKU and USA will destroy the Hoax.
If we want both political and on the field and court separation we cannot afford to lose these games. I state political because no matter how logical the argument, in others eyes we are tied at the hip to M.P.C.....(Monroe Pharmacy College) and getting beat in football and Mens Basketball just allows others to keep referring to us in that manner. And no, I am not going to use their proper name....tried that and we get ULL'ed to death by everyone else in our System. Since all this dumpster fire of a "University" has left is three Colleges and a Pharmacy College that is exactly how I will refer to them....Embarrassing to lose to these people in anything.
JUST DEAD on the money-----Years back I remember playing MONROE and JOHN T LANDRY telling Bustle that this was the most important game of his life----leap forward 3 and step back 2 steps---both of those games were huge and we blew them!!!! People don't want to say separation but that is what we are really trying to do---Nothing less and we all know it!!!
Yes, we cannot afford to lose to ULM for a variety of reasons. However, the team that deserved to win yesterday did win. You cannot give up 20 offensive rebounds and expect to beat anyone. We missed Elridge Moore greatly and he should not be playing inside as much as he does as he is more of a "3" guy than a "4" guy. Still, we likely win the last two road games if he plays. Inability to bring in enough competent guys while ULM is able to do is very frustrating.
Cajun Mike please explain the last sentence---Inability wise --are you referring to recruiting????
And, we play them in Lafayette and we use Ragin Cajuns and Warhawks, We go up there and they ULL us to death. Everybody ULL's us and Tech openly declares themselves the Flagship of North Louisiana. We want to call ourselves Louisiana, but won't push the envelope beyond our athletic website. They openly ridicule us over our name and we bow to their pressure. At some point we have to take a stand. Hard to do that when we keep losing to them.
Yes, I was referring to recruiting. Inability may have been too strong a word. We brought in Davenport and Kande to help Long inside and they have done so in some games. However, without Moore, one of their roles has to increase and it has been Davenport lately due to the rawness of Kande. ULM has a couple of athletic 6'6" guys who can finish inside they brought in from the JUCO ranks. Davenport is not athletic enough to match up with those guys. When Long fouled out we were toast, Our only chance was to pull it out at the end of the first OT. Still, I believe we win the last two road games with a healthy Moore. Of course, every team has injuries and it is something you have to overcome. Those that do have successful seasons. From what I understand Elridge began to practice this week and we may see him next Saturday.
Elridge was dressed out and ran, but was not involved with scrimmages while I was there. The most disappointing thing for me is that Coach Johnson stressed the ULM offensive rebounding in practice, as a matter of fact it was the the main focus.
Also Payton's triple double gets lost in this lost.
