Hawk is trying to say there's this humility pill we Saints fans haven't been forced to swallow. We ate the other 9 varieties since inception, but he believes we haven't been forced to swallow the "rug yanked out from under us at the doorstep of a championship" pill. Being a Saints fan prior to Payton and Brees was like volunteering, because you're loyal, to tie yourself to a public stake and letting every neighbor and passerby beat you with their stick of choice. Hawk says, "that's not a true humbling experience". Whether or not there's another stick beating scenario we haven't experienced, I think we've already been humbled enough.
My next path is to collect those sticks and break them off in people's asses. That goes for the anti Cajun people too. I'm a loyal __ to a fault. But, I've never been beaten with a stick by any human on this planet that was a better human than me. The t-shirt they wore might have represented a team that was better than mine, but they were never a better person. And although I used to think I'd just shake their hand if they congratulate me for "finally not sucking". I changed my mind. I'm going to break those sticks off deeply in their colon. And I'm going to make sure it's a humbling experience for them. Because we all know that the greatest gift you can give your fellow man is a humbling experience. I feel like it's my obligation to drive that stick deep in their rectum, and then stand over them with my powerful grip on that stick handle, and twist it while I explain the benefit of being humble. It makes you skilled with the stick.
