End of 6, still tied. Griffen struck out to end the inning. Broussard looked like he was still pitching pretty well in the top half though.
Cajuns have yet to get a base hit.
Buddy is in to start the inning. Just struck out the first batter.
Glass made quick work of Lamar. I got up for a few minutes and came back and top of the 7th is already over.
The speed of this game is much different than the games against FIU
Finally a base hit...Goulas ripped the first pitch of the inning to left field.
0 outs...Robe up.
And, Goulas moves to 2nd on a balk.
Someone correct me or give me any stats you might know of . . .
It seems that if you are unsuccessul on getting a bunt down on the first 2 strikes the chance of you striking out is much much greater.
If you get 2 strikes trying to bunt then you really only have one good last look at a pitch from the traditional batting position.
Am I wrong that strikeouts after trying to bunt are greater than strikeouts after trying to hit? ? ? ?
Bottom 8. 1 out
Bowman on 3rd.
Gisclair on 1st
Gabe Begnaud just had a great at bat, going from down 1-2 to working it full and getting the walk. He absorbed at least 10-12 pitches.
Porrier up to bat w/1 out.
Porrier with a long fly to deep right field...Bowman tagged and scored from third. gisclair still on first. Jay just said its the second time they've scored a run without a base hit.
Cajuns up 2-1, w/2 outs. Griffen coming up to bat, Robe is up in the pen.
Gisclair just tried to steal second and got thrown out. Going to the ninth w/ Robe coming in to try to save it.
CAJUNS manufacture another run!! Jordan Poirrier nails a long sac fly to plate the runner at 3rd!!! T-Robe's going for another save with 3 outs to geaux!!!
UL 2
LU 1 Top 9th.
Robe walks the first batter.
Second batter hits a liner off of Robe, balls falls in the infield, Porrier tries to get the runner at first, throws it in the dugout. The lead runner scores, the batter is at Third.
Robe will be coming out of the game. Bulliard is coming in.
I don't know how many times I've seen some of these infielders make some of the most boneheaded plays trying to make great plays. If porrier holds onto the ball, there are only runners at 1st and 2nd, no outs...Compared to a run scored, and a runner at 3rd, with 0 outs.
