CUSA membership, CUSA membership part 2, Master Plan rollout on National TV, Softball coaching crisis, ...

I agree totally ... what is wrong with, if they don't want to join in prayer they can just stand there quietly!

This being politically correct needs to stop before we become a doormat to the world.

Well that would follow under same logic as classes. I mean the atheist, jew, muslim, hindu, buddhist all might not want anything to do with Jesus, or for some the personal unique, living creator of the universe GOD.

The difference of course is that you are required to attend school, and you are not required to attend your graduation if you find it too offensive.

But if you want something critical, fine, I'll give you two things of which I have expressed my displeasure to them.

    1. The change in the public address announcing in the Monroe game. I accepted the reason for the change, but not the timing. I actually don't agree with the reasoning, but I see the reason for their acceptance. It could have waited one more game, if for no other reason, than to put to rest any doubts that the administration is fully supportive of this initiative and will not back down from anyone.
    2. Prayer at the games. Invocations have been given at games for decades. That practice was stopped earlier this year. So called "political correctness" aggravates me. There is no reason why we should not have prayer at the games.

You are entitled to your opinion. You can believe that T-Joe and Scott have done more harm than good, I'm just glad that some of the creatures on this board are in no position to make decisions for this university or this athletic department.

I don't disagree with the actions you want taken immediately, I hope all four of those things come to pass. I look forward to the money coming in soon for everything to be accomplished in the timing everyone wants.
Harm is a strong word. T-Joe has done a lot for this university since taking over, including saving the softball team. Scott Farmer on the other hand is a twerp and not qualified for the position he is holding. He almost single handedly destroyed the most successful program at Louisiana. He failed to take action 2 times during conference realignment misleading T-Joe into believing that the belt would hold firm. Had to get T-Joe to step in to keep HUD as the coach instead of him coaching the Wave. 5 years to develop a Master Plan that truly took 18 months to design.

T-Joe deserves criticism for that lame ___ excuse to stop using the first down chant and the removal of the invocation is deplorable.

Absolutely. We are allowing a very small minority of people to dominate this subject. They have some ignorant people, even in the spiritual community, supporting them. This country was founded on the belief in a diety and that diety is inseparable from our constitutional request for direction from Him. It is seriously unfortunate that the Supreme Court incorrectly interpreted the Constitution to imply "separation of Church and State"... when the intent was to defend Church from interference from State... and doesn't truly address the defense of State from Church.

You cannot clearly read the inclusion of "God" in so much of our founding documents, so many intentional inclusions of prayer and God in every single important decision, both publicly and privately set forth by every single leader in our country's history... and somehow interpret that we are supposed to remove "God and prayer" from all public places.

I depend on men with any element of faith in their spirit to defend what not only founded this country... but guided it through it's darkest hours... God and prayer. We are teaching people that we are the ones that must hide in our own little private dwellings to worship God and pray. That is not at all was ever intended. It is teaching the wrong message. And yes... this is a Christian country. Period. Christians welcome other religious practices. But this is a Christian country. We are not only allowing frenge people to purge Christianity from the mainstream of our nation... they will even use other religions that they also do not respect... to beat Christianity back.

We should fight to keep Christianity in everything. And be good Christians in helping others to find a way, even if they aren't Christian, to enjoy a life in a Christian nation. The people that are so adamant about eliminating "religion" in public places - and they are mainly eliminating Christianity - are so ignorant that 98% of all the things that they enjoy in this country were created by Christians. They don't realize that just because they don't like the color of the paint on the bottom floor of the ship... cutting the entire ship bottom out to get rid of the paint... isn't going to make a nice new rainbow colored ship where everyone is equal... it will drown all of us, equally, and put that ship on the bottom of the ocean floor.

Is it stronger than "they have F'd up more than they have advanced this program."?

"twerp, twirp-Informal: a silly, weak-minded, or contemptible person. A person regarded as insignificant and contemptible."
    http://www.thefreedictionary.com/twerp

I don't know which of these definitions you want to attach to our athletic director, or if you have some other meaning in mind, but I could just as easily attach them to quite a few people on this board, especially the words "contemptible" and "insignificant." It's very easy to lay blame on someone when you don't know the facts and only see the end. Those who still don't know that Mike instigated that fiasco are those who choose to believe what they want. As I've said before, it's easier to blame someone you don't like than to find out the facts.

You do remember that Scott Farmer did not become the athletic director until October of 2011? As the interim, he literally had to go to T-Joe for any approvals, and still does for anything that costs more than the budget allows. And it still amazes me that people don't want to accept that other conferences did not want us when other schools had more to offer than did we. Oh, right, it's easier to blame Scott and T-Joe than university presidents you don't know.

5 years vs. 18 months. Let's see, Scott became the athletic director in October, 2011, the master plan was rolled out in May, 2013, that's 19 months, wow, only missed by one month. Look, I know it's easy to spin things the way you want them to be. People, not just politicians, do that all the time. And people whose character is poisonous will always spew the negative. But Cajuns, for the most part, try to live our lives from a positive aspect. That doesn't mean we don't hold people accountable for their actions, or sometimes inactions, but we don't assassinate their integrity, intelligence, work ethic or character just because we disagree with the results. I am of the belief that those who take the time to communicate and build a relationship with these men will have a better understanding and much more insight into what is really going on with the things that interest you in regards to this athletic program.

Most of the people you accuse of not taking the time to develop a relationship have done just that. They have also asked all the appropriate questions of all the appropriate people. What they have NOT done is accept a lack of any sense of urgency by anyone in a position to make things happen at UL, except for Hud.

You seem satisfied with that lack; we are not.

Apparently it's even easier for you to defend someone you're sucking up to despite the facts. You choose to defend Farmer and accuse Lotief of instigating the incident. I guess if you consider getting fed up with lies and broken promises "instigating" then maybe you'd be right.

And your statement that a Farmer has to go to T-Joe for approval of anything that costs more than the budget allows is laughable. Well no ____, Skippy. That's the way it works everywhere. I guess you wouldn't know that balancing tires all day. That's why you are given a budget to plan expenses and manage the funds according to a business plan. If, midway through the year you decide to start a project that gad not been budgeted or whose costs has increased you have to get approval because the excess funds for that project have to be shifted from some other area of the budget.

I am of the belief that you really are a sycophantic moron.

I don't mind sharing that information when I am able, but, as you can understand, some things I am required to leave private.
Every interested fan cannot ask T-Joe and Scott all of these things you apparently ask them. And without disrespecting you, how are people on here supposed to take your third party second hand conversational information and run with it? You act as if the fact you gave your name and a role you play at one sport, we should take your word that "all is great with T-Joe and Scott's actions and decisions". People are going to form the majority of their personal opinions on what they hear and see directly out of T-Joe and Scott. If I were either of them, I wouldn't want third party people to represent me anyway.

I believe T-Joe has been a little too silent on a couple of issues. I completely understand why much of what he faces and decides must be done quietly and without raising the instant opposition this state is famous for. But many people don't believe a thing that anyone at UL says... and the people in the leadership positions should know exactly why. Others are willing to believe, but they need to hear from and see from that leadership.

Is every single thing at UL at risk if discussed publicly? Are we really not supposed to discuss some of the inconsistencies in the very few things that are either stated or witnessed by us as fans? And lastly, Icitsh, are Scott and T-Joe perfect in your eyes? Why are you never critical of either of them? I mean... you are never ever critical of anything they do or say. Isn't that a little odd? Have you ever believed even the men in your church, as ministers or deacons, have made a mistake... even if you consider the majority of them "men of integrity"? I find your constant, complete defense of the UL leadership... as if they do not make mistakes... potentially an argument to completely dismiss your opinion. I cannot imagine that is what you want. But if you never ever agree that they have made a mistake... in the fresh hour following that mistake... your credibility will go to zero.

Just like a local radio personality. He will defend every coach, AD and president like the guy is his dearest and bestest friend... perhaps only up until they commit a federal offense. That has sunk his credibility in many regards. He has also made an egregious mistake... that he still cannot understand... that you NEVER attack a "fan base". You don't write opinions on how the "good fan" does this... and the "bad fan" does that. You keep your head looking at the nucleus of the program(s) and let the fan... the purest EVER gauge of the reality of the situation... to be the mass of individuals that they are. You don't explain "negative versus positive"... because sometimes negatively charged particles... like an electron... are a blessing... and sometimes a negatively charged particle... like an electron... is the deliverer of horrible. He and you are not qualified to make those distinctions about electrons... or fans. You both love protons and make no bones about it. Neither of you understand the inseparable, beautiful coexistence of both the negatively and positively charged entity. But, I will not say that you don't belong. You are also welcome to be a fan. Just one more... fan.
