what can you expect when someone of mcdonald's ilk is passed off as a "good" sports reporter? we are constantly being fed the same type of drivel from people like him and guilbeau and a few from from kpel. i believe we deserve better.
Dan.....I/we booed the decision and not the recipient......btw Who did you vote for if you did vote???
If darkwa doesn't rush for 3 tds, Tulane still loses.
If McGuire doesn't have 100+ total yards and a TD, we don't win.
McGuire was the most valuable player. If not him then TB. Or Cadona. Or Stover. Certainly not a RB from the losing team that didn't even rush for 100. What a joke.
Didn't the cajuns spank Tulane 48-6 in the game that immediately followed Tulane's decision to no longer play cajuns because the program was beneath tulane in their opinion? If my memory is correct, that was the final game against tulane until last year and this year, so it's 3-0 since the 90s. There was a great game in the dome between these two teams in the late 80s where tulane won with a score around 42-40 and there was a decent crowd there. Brian Mitchell was there and I think it was the NCAA all time record for most rushing yards in a losing effort. That was a great game and both programs would greatly benefit if there were more games like that in a renewed rivalry. Seems like back then tulane wanted out of the series because suddenly the cajuns were competitive against them and that was not supposed to happen in their minds.
When I heard the announcement of the Tulane kid for MVP, the first thought I had was couldn't they have picked a guy from the winning team? Then I thought who would it be? Broadway for playing with a broken pinned up arm? Justin Anderson for making a hundred tackles? Stover for coming up big time in his first real duty as Field goal kicker? McGuire who was obviously the best athlete on the field? Corey Trim with maybe the biggest play of the game? Harris who played his tail off? Andre Huval who led a stellar performance by the offensive line? That thing could have been split 30 different ways on the UL side. In the end I'm glad no UL player got it although I think they all earned it. It was truly a team win, and to me giving an MVP to just one guy wouldn't have been right in this case.
I guess if I gave two ____s what anyone in the media thought about anything it would bother me. Jay Walker, Dan McDonald, etc are just regular people with a job. Their opinion matters 0.000% more or less than anyone else's. I'll continue to support the Cajuns as I see fit, and criticize whatever coaching or administration decision I see fit to criticize. But, I see your point, it does get old to be the one laying out the green to make this train go and have somebody tell you to shut up and not have an opinion.
Did you get the drift of what was being said? Or were you just concerned about the direction and wind speed? You sound as though you wish to defend the miserable inactions of the local media in this town for countless decades, while defending their right to attack the fans for letting their voices be heard.
