UL - Louisiana’s Lady Cajuns softball team travels to California to take part in the Judi Garman Classic in Fullerton, Calif. The Cajuns, ranked 16th in the latest NFCA poll, will face some stiff competition as they square off against three teams ranked in the top 10, as well as the USA National Team.
The Lady Cajuns open the tournament with an exhibition game against the USA Olympic Team on Thursday, Mar. 20, at 8:00 p.m. (Central Standard Time). The match-up will be the first of two games against Team USA for the UL. Louisiana and Team USA meet up again on Saturday, Apr. 19 for an exhibition in Sulphur, La.
Following the game with Team USA, the Ragin’ Cajuns will face off against the No. 1 team in the nation, Arizona State, on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. (CST).
The Cajuns will also take on UNLV on Friday afternoon.
On the final day of the Judi Garman Classic, the Cajuns will take on the No. 7 Arizona Wildcats before meeting up with the No. 6 Michigan Wolverines.
Louisiana and Michigan met up earlier this season at the NFCA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga., with the Wolverines getting the better of the Cajuns.
UL enters the weekend 2-2 against ranked opponents. The Cajuns downed No. 23 North Carolina at the Leadoff classic, before dropping the game with No. 12 Michigan. UL split with then-No. 3 Texas A&M in the 2008 Aggie Classic.
