I would like to see coach Huds bonus to increase in the areas of Attendance but at the same time if it is for >20,000 average then increase that to 25,000( and give him more say in the schedule). Increase the bonus for us to hit 15,000 season tickets, and increase his bonus for an out right Conference Championship. Also, pick up Huds base to First in the conference!!!! Want to be the best then PAY the best!
Also, I feel like our Assistants need a bump to make sure they too are the highest paid in the conference. I would also compare ALL our salaries to CUSA and the American Conference, the very ones we are trying to get into, hopefully soon. We need to have all the staffs(all sports) payed and ready to MOVE Conferences!!!
I cannot think of a coach in our conference now that make more than Hud. Who am I missing?
I know that Anderson at ASU is down around 700K and the new schools pay around 225-400K for their head coaches. I am not sure what USA is paying but I expect GaSo to pay their new guy aound 300-400. I think Franchoine is only making 400 at Texas State. WKU may be paying biker boy a little more, but they are a gone pecan. I think ULM is paying around 175 + some stolen Food Stamps + 10 minutes at the office supply cabinet each year. Who am I missing?
Just some thought.
Maybe I meant to say, Hud should make if you combine all other Sunbelt coaches! No really Hud should be paid like a CUSA or American Conference coach would get paid and his staff!
Thats funny about the ULM coach and his Food stamp pay!
Hud is head and shoulders above the rest of the SBC coaches. When WKU leaves, and the went to Boise that was it, the end.
So three bowl wins, new facilities, great recruiting Mecca, well paid assistants, he needs to earn that top tier salary, and he does every day. But you cannot have too many ULM, and USA days.
My humble opinion: we have good coordinators. Not perfect but better than most non-BCS schools.
OC: It is easy to blame him for the play calling, but as a few people have said, Broadway did not progress and Surgent/others were a huge step down from Peoples. The only think I think the OC missed the boat on was not trying more seam routes with the TE. Bottom line for next year, the QB need to get better and the OL needs to pass block better.
DC: at first I was in agreement with many here that the scheme (8 men lost in space) was the problem. What we learned in the last two games is our back 4 may be the weakest collection of players we have had in 5+ years. He was trying to protect those guys. Our secondary's from the past few years would have had 6 ints in the Tulane game. We better all hope someone in this group can step up. From the short look we have gotten it looks like #2 knows how to play the ball. Can we find 3-4 more? Really excited about our DL next year.
