Hud is head and shoulders above the rest of the SBC coaches. When WKU leaves, and the went to Boise that was it, the end.
So three bowl wins, new facilities, great recruiting Mecca, well paid assistants, he needs to earn that top tier salary, and he does every day. But you cannot have too many ULM, and USA days.
My humble opinion: we have good coordinators. Not perfect but better than most non-BCS schools.
OC: It is easy to blame him for the play calling, but as a few people have said, Broadway did not progress and Surgent/others were a huge step down from Peoples. The only think I think the OC missed the boat on was not trying more seam routes with the TE. Bottom line for next year, the QB need to get better and the OL needs to pass block better.
DC: at first I was in agreement with many here that the scheme (8 men lost in space) was the problem. What we learned in the last two games is our back 4 may be the weakest collection of players we have had in 5+ years. He was trying to protect those guys. Our secondary's from the past few years would have had 6 ints in the Tulane game. We better all hope someone in this group can step up. From the short look we have gotten it looks like #2 knows how to play the ball. Can we find 3-4 more? Really excited about our DL next year.
Alexander's greatest assest is his speed, his problem is he is still too light to play against power teams like Kansas State or Arkansas. He and Hill are really good playing in space against spread teams. He needs to get his weight up around 215 or 220 like Riles, and he has also had a number of injuries.
