We also have to remember that, according to the "experts", we were not supposed to win this game. We all knew Tulane was not the same team as last year and knew it would be tough. We dominated when we could and made some great defensive plays to help hold them off. They did not whip us in the second half. IF they had won the game you could use that word, but score shows we were the better team tonight AND pulled in upset. How big can a win be?!

Who was the toolame player who tried to get a shot on our QB on the last play victory formation kneel-down? Huval started to go after him and Schofield had to pull the toolame thug back.

Curtis Johnson says they will get it next year. I am not sure they will be much improved as their NG leaves and he is their key guy. If grant and dharma leave on defense they will have big shoes to fill on offense as well

Well the Lamers NEVER dominated play. They had some fortunate lame duck passes that were caught, a bone headed interception thrown by Broadway. That was on him more than them. Lamers never had long sustained drives for scores, Lamers knew Broadway was limited and blitzed non stop, and in the end a fourth string quarterback leads his team from the eight yard line to secure victory.

Cajuns victory was a lot like their first two, dominated the first part of the game building a huge lead, and the other team makes a charge only to have the defense, offense, or special team step up when it counted the most.

The old adage is true again, stats are for losers.

Dominated, such an interesting word in regards to this game. Sure there wet lame duck passes they intercepted but we intercepted lame duck passes also. Neither team really dominated totally; however, we had 0 offensive plays on their end I the field in the 2nd or 3rd quarter. While that may not be getting dominated, it surely is getting whipped.

We won!!! That's all that really matters, and that Tulane kid just got knocked out not paralyzed, that probably matters more actually.

Then they need to call it the "Best Offensive Performance" Award instead of MVP. Because, whatever that guy did.......it wasn't very valuable because it didn't help his team win the game.

I guess they are saying without him the game would not have been close. The announcer said he played for the team that finished second. That was funny

Read the Tulane forums and see how much they are congratulating the ULL team and the Cajun fans. They are happy that there was (finally) a big Tulane crowd but well aware that the turnout was overwhelmingly wearing Red. I am a bit confused at the animosity shown here towards Tulane- they are not going to be any long term rival (certainly not a conference rival) unless somehow Louisiana can eventually move up into the same conference. Anyway, good win in the end especially in light of Broadway's injury- give him serious props for playing and getting the job done. The focus now should be on getting into CUSA and keeping forward progress.

Then you must be reading only one thread or are myopic. They talk down about UL (the institution, team and fans) in every thread leading up to the game and even afterward. There were only a few who gave any grudging respect to UL.

As far as being rivals, we may not be in the same conference but we are in the same state and compete for the same bandwagon fans and recruits

Exactly. Nothing says not caring like a 98 page thread about a game featuring two teams you care nothing about, in which you pull for one of those teams because you have some sort of vendetta against a team that has historically been an afterthought in this state. Reminds me of some cowboy fans after the saints lose.
