UL — There’s a good reason why Rickey Bustle can’t remember all the names of the Louisiana offensive linemen who play in today’s annual intrasquad spring game at Cajun Field.
That’s because ULL’s injury-depleted line will contain several blockers who performed rarely last year when the Cajuns won three of 12 games.
Despite the injuries, the ULL offense, minus three prospective starting linemen, starts the game at noon with a 17-point deficit.
“It’s going to be 17-0 in favor of the defense at the beginning,” said Bustle, who starts his seventh season as the ULL football coach.
Instead of dividing the team into the Red and White squads, which has been done traditionally, Bustle said today’s game will place the offense against the defense for four, nine-minute quarters.
