CAJUNS DISMANTLE BULLDOGS, 11-2. Freshman Michael Cook posted his second superb outing in as many starts, while UL took advantage of timely hitting as the Cajuns dimantled the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs 11-2 on Tuesday...UL’s 11 runs are a season high, while the Cajuns tied a season-high with 11 hits. Louisiana Tech committed a school-record-tying seven errors.

LOGAN BREAKS OUT OF SLUMP. After recording five hits opening weekend at the UTSA Baseball Classic, Josh Logan struggled at the plate, going 0-for-his next 19 at bats until Tuesday at Louisiana Tech...Logan was unsuccessful in his first two at bats of the night an infield bunt single in the sixth snapped his recent woes. Logan added a RBI single to right field in the ninth, finishing 2-for-4.

HAMMERIN’ HAWKINS. Tuesday night, Scott Hawkins delivered his second home run of the season in the eighth inning, helping the Cajuns secure the road win at Louisiana Tech...With the two-run blast, Hawkins moved to within six home runs of tying Dallas Morris for fifth on the school’s all-time list.

TWO-FOR-TUESDAY. On Tuesday, Louisiana hit two home runs in an 11-2 win at Louisiana Tech, marking the Cajuns’ first multi-homer game of 2008. It was Louisiana’s first multi-HR contest since the NCAA College Station Regional title game against Texas A&M on June 2, 2007.

TWO OUT, NO PROBLEM. Seven of Louisiana’s 11 runs at Louisiana Tech came with two outs on the scoreboard...The only runs that came with less than two outs were via Nolan Gisclair’s two-run home run in the first and the first Cajuns runs in the fifth and eighth innings.

ROAD WARRIORS. Louisiana’s convincing 11-2 win at Louisiana Tech on Tuesday was the Cajuns’ first road victory of the 2008 season...Tuesday night marked the first of a long road stretch ahead for the Ragin’ Cajuns. Nine of Louisiana’s next 10 games and 13 of the next 18 are on the road...This weekend, Louisiana heads to Florida Atlantic before returning home to face the Northwestern State Demons on Tuesday, March 18.

FLORIDA ATLANTIC SCOUTING REPORT. Florida Atlantic (8-5) has split its last four games after winning six straight contests. On Wednesday, FAU rebounded from Monmouth’s five-run first inning to take a 12-11win at FAU Stadium...The Owls enter this weekend’s SBC weekend having only played one conference game. Two of FAU’s games with UALR were cancelled because of weather...Florida Atlantic is 7-4 at home this season and have played only two games away from Boca Raton. The Owls had lost their first three games of the season at home until posting a six-game win streak...In fact, FAU is in the midst of a nine-game homestand that includes non-conference games with Rutgers, New Jersey Tech and a SBC weekend series against Middle Tennessee.

FLORIDA ATLANTIC SERIES. Louisiana leads the all-time series 3-0 after sweeping the Owls last season in Lafayette...The Cajuns held the Owls to two runs in each of the three games in the series...This weekend marks Louisiana’s first-ever trip to Boca Raton, Fla., to face the Owls in baseball.

MOODY MOVING UP. Senior southpaw Hunter Moody enters Saturday with 24 career victories, tied for fourth-most in school history...A victory Saturday would move him into a third-place tie with Eric Templet (25). Moody currently trails all-time leaders Andy Gros and Scott Dohmann (26) by two.

CAJUNS SWEPT IN SBC SERIES FOR FIRST TIME IN FIVE SEASONS. Arkansas State scored the game’s first six runs, while Louisiana committed six errors as the Ragin’ Cajuns suffered their first Sun Belt series sweep in five seasons with a 9-2 loss Sunday at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field...Louisiana suffered its first Sun Belt series sweep since April 23-25, 2004, when Florida International swept the Cajuns in Miami. It was also the first time Louisiana was swept in a SBC series at home since May 12-14, 2000, against the New Orleans Privateers.


UP NEXT - NORTHWESTERN STATE. Following this weekend’s series at FAU, the Ragin’ Cajuns return home to host the Northwestern State Demons for "Turn Back the Clock Night" on Tuesday, March 18. It will be the first of four meetings this season with the Demons.

COOK SUPERB IN FIRST TWO STARTS. Freshman Michael Cook is now 2-0 after two straight victories as a starter on the mound. Cook has been victimized for just two runs (one earned) on 11 hits in 13 2/3 innings as a starter with eight strikeouts.
