Comeaux's Amber LeBlanc signed with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette to continue her soccer career in February.

"I liked coach (Scott) Wieland and he'd seen me play select," Leblanc said. "I got to meet all the girls and they looked like a really good team."

LeBlanc is a 5-2 forward from Comeaux High School. She is a solid student academically as well as on the field. LeBlanc was team captain of her high school soccer team in 2007 and will serve as the captain once again this year. She was named All-District in 2007 and first-team All-District this year.

"Amber is a very physical forward with very good attacking speed," Wieland noted. "She will be a great addition to an already talented returning class in 2008. She has a great work ethic and should mesh with the team very well."
