The Name Issue discussed on WWL today

I was listening to WWL on the way home and Deke was mentioning the NO Bowl and Deke called us Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns. He also mentioned how he caught hell from callers when he used the other lesser names. Bobby mentioned (paraphrasing) "what about UL Monroe Warharks, what about Louisiana Warhawks?'
Deke posed the question why did we have to have 2 schools change their name? Bobby said something to the effect of "that's because LSU told them to."

Bobby is an LSU fanboy and always will be. I'm not being a cry baby about this, but to me this is good news. Word is getting out and it's being talked about. Keep on keeping on. The calls are working.

He's usually soused. Saw him last New Orleans Bowl because the wife of one of our group members went to NSU with him and BeBe. He saw her and we got to listen to his jibberish for a bit. I think one or two syllables resembled the English language.

It has been talked about ad nauseam for thirty years. It is what it is, and it will never be what we want it to be. Constantly making an issue of our name has reached the point of absurdity, as well as embarrassment. The casual fan in Louisiana, outside of Acadiana, is an LSU fan. We simply do not have the needed statewide support to win the name issue battle. If what happened at the ULM game didn't open your eyes as to just how hopeless a cause the name issue is, then nothing will.
