It seems CBS and FOX Sports disagree with you. From the looks of it, this could matter a lot in March.

March madness which is on cbs... Not espn, if we make the tournament, should be listed as Louisiana.

I respect your opinion, but and however, except for the timeline and the ULM game situation being an eye opener, I simply disagree with everything you said.

Besides sports, a better frontal lobe marketing opportunity hasn't been invented. I equate dropping the name issue with those who said UL should drop down to D1aa when the team was losing.

Well put, Turb. Just think where we would be had we listened to those sages back then. Rather than looking forward to Hud taking us to our third straight Bowl, we would be getting giddy at the possibility of Matt Viator putting his name in the hat for our Head Coaching vacancy.

ok Oiler, look at it this way, just for laughs....Name: Oiler, Big O, Oiley, Oiler@Raginpagin, Raginpagin-oiler, O.IL.-raginpagin....now, you need to have one to represent your business side and one to represent your warm and fuzzy side. You can only have 2, one formal and one not so formal, so that people will recognize what you represent. You pick the 2 you like....Oiler for your business brand and Oiley to use as a brand for your fun side. However, the neighborhood calls you Big O....you hate Big O. It says nothing about who or what you are. Years pass with much confussion, now the whole oil field calls you the Big O. You can only get a few friends to call you Oiley as they see the value and respect your fun, warm and fuzzy side. What would you do to correct the city from calling you Big O? Same thing.....with the University's name.
    I heard Oiler@raginpagin just won the lottery.....who?
I heard Big O was arrested for starting a peaceful riot....who is that?
Oiler@Raginpagin won the office BBQ competition....great, never heard of them...Oh, you mean Big O?
    Get It?

To anyone who thinks that if we haven't succeeded with the name change in thirty years, we are not going to. The majority of the people in our state simply do not want us to become known as Louisiana. Nothing we have done has put a dent in their opposition to it. I just think that there are more productive ways to spend one's energy in support of UL than beating this dead horse.

Thank God you are in a very small class. Are you even a Cajun fan, or maybe you just like to stir up the pot? I really cannot recall if you ever made a positive post.

For you it must be pretty bleak to be alive, I mean sooner or later we all die, no getting around that. In addition for many it will be a death in pain and misery. Might as well talk to Kevorkian today and be done with it.

Fox Sports1 is still fooled saw today were Louisiana will play Jackson State tonight.

For every example that you can give me of us being referred to as Louisiana, I can give you ten of us being referred to as UL-Lafayette, but so what? This has nothing to do with whether or not I continue to support UL. That is the point I was trying to make.

Dude it is not the UL thing, your posts are almost always depressing and hopeless. In any case if you can give me ten UL Lafayettes to every Louisiana thing, then we are winning. Go fight the battles you want, and leave the heavy lifting to those who want to lift.

    I agree.
Don't tell me we aren't making progress. Ten years ago it was one Louisiana for every 100 LL. ____ remember how giddy we got when Phil Steele was the first to "get it."

Its precisely the instat opposition that has taken us so long. Without it, we'd havw had it years ago.
