COLLEGE STATION, Texas - Heartbreak struck here again for UL's softball team.

In a matchup of nationally ranked teams, No. 3 Texas A&M fought off blustery winds and the No. 18 Ragin' Cajuns for a 1-0 win Friday at the 2008 Aggie Classic.

A&M's Natalie Villarreal broke a scoreless tie with an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh inning to knock off UL (12-4) in a game televised on CST.

Last year, the Cajuns ended their season with two losses in the NCAA Regional in College Station.

"There are no moral victories, but I'm proud of how our kids played," said UL co-coach Michael Lotief, who shares coaching duties with wife, Stefni.

"Obviously, you want to win, and when you don't win you're disappointed."

"But we played good and played toe-to-toe with one of the best teams in the country. This was a good measuring stick to see where we are."
