The thing to remember is that we CAN be a big boy ---We have all the necessary requirements if we do our part and the state just would leave us alone----They should see the advantage of having a Big 12 team in Lafayette and should be actually trying to get us there---but we are all too familiar with the pushes down from the top and the pull downs from the bottom!!! NO other school has the chance to do what the Cajuns can---Not Tulane, Ltur, or the rest!!!-If the population keeps growing in the area (it will), the enrollment keeps growing (it will), and the facilities grow to the 3rd tier (they will), we take care of the academic side (it is being done), and the money intake continues (it will) we could be ready as the next team in line from the South other than maybe Houston or Memphis!!!

To add to Boomer's remarks (which I totally understood) ... there was an article in the DA recently about the airport seeking to build a new and larger terminal rather than renovate ... that also helps our quest for a better conference affiliation.

They need to figure a way to increase the runway length in any way possible. I seem to remember we had issues with not being able to land charter jets due to runway length.
