After a frustrating start to the 2008 baseball season, UL's baseball team gets a chance to forget the past and fully focus on its first goal this season: Repeat as Sun Belt Conference champions.
The Ragin' Cajuns (4-6) kick off conference play at 6:30 tonight against Arkansas State (5-4) in the first of a three-game series at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.
UL won its first two games of the season before dropping five straight - including its first home opener since 1993. The slow start knocked the Cajuns out of the national rankings, but they have rebounded to win two of their last three games.
ASU knocked off nationally ranked Ole Miss, 7-5, on Wednesday. Ole Miss entered the week ranked second nationally by Collegiate Baseball.
