UL - Louisiana’s Lady Cajuns softball team heads to College Station, Texas this weekend to participate in the 2008 Aggie Classic hosted by No. 3 Texas A&M.
The #18 Lady Cajuns (12-3) enter the tournament coming off of a doubleheader sweep of in-state rival Nicholls State. UL won the first game of the twin bill 11-3 in six innings, and used a season-high nine runs in one inning to pound the Lady Colonels 12-0 in the nightcap.
Louisiana will play five games in three days, playing Illinois and Texas A&M twice and BYU once.
The Cajuns open up the tournament with a game at 10:00 a.m. against Illinois.
UL follows with an afternoon game against the tournament hosts at 3:00 p.m. The game with the Aggies is slated to be television and broadcast on CST.
On day two of the tournament, the Ragin’ Cajuns will square off with BYU at 12:15 p.m. before taking on Texas A&M at 5:15 p.m.
The Cajuns conclude the tournament with a 10:00 a.m. game against Illinois.
The game with the Illini and the Cougars marks the first meeting between the schools under co-head coach Stefni Lotief.
The Cajuns have squared off against the Aggies once before under Lotief in the 2002 Aggie Invitational. UL dropped a 3-2 decision to the No. 23 host Aggies.
