Thread: 'Multiple yet simple,' UL's offense leaves foes frustrated

  1. UL Football 'Multiple yet simple,' UL's offense leaves foes frustrated

Jay Johnson said the key to Louisiana's offense is its simplicity.

"We try to be multiple yet simple," the Ragin' Cajuns' offensive coordinator said. "It's not really complicated. ... It all comes down to your five guys in front and the guy with the ball in his hands doing their jobs."

Our offense has also left our fans frustrated the last few games. I am not sure what we need to do, but we need to do something to become less predictable and more effective. Our OL has not been getting the push they were getting early in the year, and I think it is because we have narrowed our splits and line up in formations that make it easy for our opponents to stack the box and slow down our running game. We also have not been utilizing our tight ends in the seams and across the middle or our backs in the flats or up the seams in the passing game.

I just hope we adjust both the offense and the defense to be more aggressive by this Saturday.

Personally, I would like to see more use of the tight end with short passes and seems up the middle. Also, when it is 3rd and short, and we want to pass the ball, please, I implore you, instead of throwing it 50 yards, throw something short. Not only will this open up the offense, it will greatly assist our young quarterbacks.

Well at least we have had a week and a half -2 weeks to get ready and add some "STUFF"!!!No holding back --bring the entire playbook---I think that is what we did to stop the SDSU great running back----had a new package which they were ready for-----If I were the greenies I would go back to the WKU and ASU tapes of 2 years ago!!!----man I do love Auburn's coach!!!!
