UL baseball coach Tony Robichaux called his club's last few outings "ugly baseball."
Some may have thought Sunday's 2-0 victory over Southern Mississippi wasn't pretty, but not the Ragin' Cajuns. Beauty, in this case, is definitely in the eye of the beholder.
The Cajuns' first run came on a hit batsman, a walk, a double steal and a ground ball. The other run came on a botched play by the Golden Eagles that turned a slow roller right at an infielder into an RBI single.
But that was more than enough for Cajun pitcher Hunter Moody, who continued an impressive season-opening streak and was the key to UL snapping a five-game loss streak.
