Thread: Quarterback Scene Remains Uncertain

  1. Default Quarterback Scene Remains Uncertain

A week-and-a-half before UL's Dec. 21 meeting with Tulane in the New Orleans Bowl, UL coach Mark Hudspeth still isn't sure whom his starting quarterback will be.

Usual starter Terrance Broadway - who broke a bone in the forearm of his throwing arm, underwent surgery two days later in which a plate was inserted and missed last Saturday's regular season-ending loss at South Alabama - sat out practice as expected when the Cajuns held their first pre-bowl practice Wednesday and still hasn't been ruled out for the 21st.

Coach is right that turnovers are key, our offense has given up too many... true, but our defense needs to get some. When the ball hits you in the hands (DB's, LB's), catch the darn thing. (yeah I know, has a negative tone) Geaux Ragin Cajuns! (just to counter last statement)

Glad I'm not the only one who noticed that our defense can't catch a pass to save their lives sometimes.

When this HUD-ball got rolling, our defense caught everything. If your defense can't catch passes right to them, you deserve to lose. Plain and simple. They're trying to give it to you.

Came to UL as a wide receiver.

I think the number ONE reason a guy plays defensive back vs receiver is because he can't catch haha....not to mention it is a little tougher to catch a ball when you're not expecting it...can be quite frustrating though.

That's why players that don't catch well are on defense...

  8. UL Football Broadway not ruled out for bowl

Coach Mark Hudspeth reiterated Thursday that he expects redshirt-freshmen quarterbacks Brooks Haack and Jalen Nixon to both play in UL’s Dec. 21 New Orleans Bowl game against Tulane.

Yet he still hasn’t ruled out the possibility of injured junior starter Terrance Broadway being able to go, and offered fresh insight on just how the Ragin’ Cajuns are handling the situation – going so far as to suggest Broadway doesn’t even need to practice next week in order to play.
