Now Mr Cocky you should post the entire thread instead of hand picking quotes. I have always said that I don't have a problem with people questioning or criticizing. The issue I have is that people are _____s about it. Being overtly critical, IMO, can be very damaging. But everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I hesitate to jump in but I agree with you.

I can't tell you how many coach bashing threads I have had to delete through the years.

I bring it up knowing I have been guilty myself when it came to holding on to certain forever coaches. Or what seemed like forever coaches at the time.

We had only one defensive first team all sunbelt, one second team and one honorable mention. We only had three senior starters returning and with Gillis getting hurt, the defense was throw into a unusual line up. We had 3 out of 4 starter on the D line returning and only two other wise on the D and one of those got hurt and was out for the season. Also with injuries to Tig, Chris Hill and Anayama the LB corps were constantly getting moved around. There were injuries at all areas of the D and it's tough to build a cohesive unit with all that going on. But hey it's football and injuries will happen.....but as fans we should look at the WHOLE year not just a few choice areas that you think will confirm what you think.

These players and coaches have accomplished more than anyone else before them and they deserve all the praise and admiration we can give them for giving us such times of plenty and the deserve none of the hate and negativity that this board seems to love to spew.

I'm with coach....haters start jumping....we can't afford the drag you are putting on our high speed bus!
Are you over yourself yet? This has to be the _____ commentary I've read this year.

Maybe not, but if fans are bashing his team and he stands up for them, I can't blame him. It is amazing that fans can spout off anything they feel like and expect the people they are dissing to take a blind ear to it. Fans have a right to say anything they want, but should not get all butt-hurt if the coach disagrees.

No, it just goes once again to support my statement that you truly do NOT value anybody else's opinion as you continuously say you do.

I know of almost no one that "bashed" the team or any particular players on the team. Hud purely reacted to two things... the comments made about how bad the defensive "SCHEME" is (and it is)... and the fact that we lost to ULM and USA. There were never any insults shot directly at the players or the team. Did some people think we played "flat" uninspired football over the last few games? Yes, some did. It appears Hud did too. "We need to play with more fire". But that is not "bashing" the team.

There are times bashing occurs on this forum. And there is good reason to... and good ways to... try and squelch it. But to arbitrarily "bash the bashers" on a thread that had no reason to go that direction... is a misapplication of emotion. And it is counterproductive to eliminating "bashing".

Geaux Cajuns! Beat the Green Ripple!
