I don't want to see any small ball till the bats come around.

You cannot capitalize on pushing players around the field with walks, bunts, or anything else, if your bats don't liven up... no matter what. I haven't been to a game to see it for myself... only a couple via radio so far... so I have nothing but second hand info to go on, as to what is really happening.
I would hate to think this was caused by too much preseason hype... but that could be a major factor in these young mens' minds. If these players are who they are suppose to be (we know Tony's the real deal), the play will turn in the next couple of weeks. We all think it sucks to drop games like this, but this is a preseason of sorts for what really counts.
I would rather see a sluggish start than a sluggish finish... ideally neither... but Tony can turn this into a wakeup call to any on the team that thought the deal was in the bag already. When the leaders on the team start to work and play like leaders, the rest will follow.
Hitting is contagious. One or two multiple hit innings and this could all be behind us. I am just waiting for that inning. And yes, it is getting frustrating.
