COLUMBUS, Ga. - UL's softball team suffered its first loss of the season Friday night, dropping a 3-1 decision to Nebraska at the NFCA Leadoff Classic.
After opening the day with a 7-1 win over 23rd-ranked North Carolina, the loss against the unranked Cornhuskers (3-6) dropped the No. 16 Cajuns to 9-1.

Donna Bourgeois took the loss for UL. The freshman from Teurlings allowed six hits over four innings, all three runs and struck out six batters. Brittany Cuevas came on in relief and worked three scoreless innings with strikeouts.
