Z, you hit it right on the nose. I have yet to hear one Cajun fan get on here boasting about how we're now world stage or any nonsense like that. We are generally quite humble to be where we are and with Hud at the helm things are looking good and getting better. It's like they forgot about the 41-13 butt-beating they got from us last year.
I'm hoping we give Toolame another good thrashing!
Nu
I suspect that we will have twice as many people in the stands rooting for UL (40,000) as does Tulane. However, it is nice to see that it looks like there will be a big crowd. This should open the eyes of CUSA to the need for an LA team. Ignoring the Tulane bashing, it is just a fact that we need to at least be moving up in league as opposed to shooting for the NO Bowl as the ultimate prize every year.
You singing to the choir brother, now you need to sing to Farmer who thinks the SBC is about right, just like he felt that the softball teams seeding was about right two years ago, and the same Farmer who was comfortable with the pinky promise of the league members sticking together. Yea, that guy, the one who was late with his master plan, late trying to talk seriously to C USA.
That guy who will be getting a lot of questions about the most expensive part of the master plan phase II, who now seems to be indicating it is on some distant horizon.
Do not get fooled, we need to leave the SBC, but not to C USA, instead AAC with a real plan for the Big XII. Anything short of this is fools gold.
CE- There is almost no conceivable way that the Big XII would ever extend an invite to the Cajun's. Ignoring the second L in the name doesn't change reality. The AAC is also a big stretch and would probably only happen if, among other things, Tulane got a better offer and moved up and UL has a stretch of great football years coupled with great attendance. I think CUSA would be a marginal step up but, without a doubt, it is also a conference that is going down in stature.
I've seen a grand TOTAL of two people wearing Tulane gear since yesterday afternoon! Are we sure Tulane is from THIS city?
Yes says me. If you disagree then I suggest you post your logical path to a Big XII invite or even an AAC invite if Tulane does not move up to a better conference (no way AAC wants a second, small tv market team in LA). However, this discussion is going far afield from the happy discussion of what should be a huge crowd later today and I suggest that, if you want to further comment, you start a new post. It is fun to see so much Red in the Quarter- a real bowl experience. See you tonight.
I think I saw a group of toolame fans. A couple of them had a green scarf on but nothing with a school identifier. I'm pretty sure they were though cause they would have drowned had it been raining as they walked past us.
I seriously doubt you will find many Tulane fans in the quarter... That's beneath them... However if you were to travel uptown or to Frenchman Street I'm sure you would find a few more stragglers.
Hope this photo attaches. Could all These people at city hall be getting their free TooLame tickets.
Ok working on it.
