I understand about the big groups, but I only requested 2 tickets... which was less than the max amount I could have requested at my RCAF level. I would have been willing to donate more if I knew what I would be getting for the extra donation. As long as we don't have a point system, donors are just throwing money at the RCAF and crossing their fingers.

But then so would everyone else, it's all relative. Our # of donations are up and the amounts are up. You may have also turned your form after others who have the same level as you. If you have same rcaf and are a season ticket holder, then they go by who turned in form first. There are a lot of factors that go into this.

I was told by the RCAF that dollar amount is factored into priority also. We could both be "All Cajun" level, but you gave $1100 and I gave $1543.21, so I would have priority over you. If we have the EXACT same dollar amount donated, then it goes by which of our forms were submitted first.

I donate more than the minimum of my level and even throw some chage behind the decimal. This makes my donation a unique amount that no one else has. So I should never tie with anyone, which means it should be irrelevant when I turn in my ticket request form. The whole "when you turned it in" seems easily manipulated, so I just eliminate myself from that step by donating an odd amount.

Why isn't all of this stuff on the RCAF website? They could explain things a lot better, I feel they aren't very in touch with a lot of members. It's like some secret society over there. Bottom line is a point system eliminates a lot of the mystery of how things are being done, shows you where you stand and how much you would need to donate to move up to where you want to be. Seems like a better system for all parties involved.

We went RCAF this year with less people (120 last year, 32 this year) and received only 1 section better than last year. My group will have to up their donations next year or I am going on my own.
Anyway we are in a domed stadium and outside freezing our buts off.

Not directed particularly at you Mel, but it was clearly stated in the ticket order form, or in the email it came in that if several RCAF members grouped their tickets, they would be seated together, but that the priority would be at the level of the LOWEST contributor. So if a 10K donor and a 5K donor and a $250 donor group their tickets, they will be at the $250 priority level. No point system is necessary to figure this out.

Don't get me wrong. I want a point system, so I can get credit for ALL my donations, not just the ones to the RCAF general fund, but that is an entirely separate issue than ticket priority, unless you make enough dedicated donations to push your RCAF membership up a level or two..

2. Placing 20k people in seats without their input and making them happy is impossible.
3. Limited amount of time to do this, and everyone has a different idea of what "good" seats are. Some think first level is best, I don't. Some think 300 level is best, I do. Some people like the endzones so you can see the field vertically.
4. People will never be satisfied they can't wrap their head around buying tickets to something without choosing their seat

I haven't heard on my tickets yet. (RCAF, season tickets, & Alumni). Did yours just show up on Fed Ex without contacting you first? I'm starting to get a little concerned.

Don't get concerned, they are all placed first...then your card charge and phone call are in no particular order. We have 42 together, half got the call, half didn't, 1 guys card still isn't charged. The ones that have picked up are in same section.
