UL - Louisiana' Lady Cajuns tennis team bested instate opponent Nicholls State 6-1 on Tuesday at Cajun Courts. The victory improves the Lady Cajuns record to 8-3.

The Cajuns only dropped one match to the Colonels in singles play. At No.1 singles, Kim van der Horst topped Florina Nosca 6-2, 7-6, while Myrthe Molenveld bested Anne-Claire Murier 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2.

Bridget Marcovich easily defeated Sanja Stanojcic 6-2, 6-2 at No. 4, and Marina Ruiz de Gauna defeated Sumana Kalyanasundram 6-3, 6-2 at No. 5. Mia Gordon topped Nicole September 6-1, 6-4 at No. 6.

In doubles competition, Molenveld and Marcovich defeated Nosca and Natalia Zmora 8-0 at No. 1, while van der Horst and Dangond topped Murier and Kalyanasundram 8-4 at No 2. Julie Mazinova and Gordon bested Stanojcic and September 8-3 at No. 3.

The Lady Cajuns will next compete on Saturday, March 8 when they face South Alabama in Mobile, Ala. The match is set to begin at 11:00 a.m.
