After UL's defense stuffed another play during spring football practice Sunday afternoon, defensive end Jeremy Cook ran off the field, undid his chin strap and took off his helmet.

"We're going to be a whole different D this year," the rising sophomore said to a group of teammates.

Cajun defensive coordinator Kevin Fouquier certainly hopes so.

"The good Lord didn't put eyes behind our head. He put them in front," Fouquier said. "We're looking forward.

"We can't control what happened in the past."
