We run a Tampa-2 syle of defense. Even when the Buccaneers were a top D in the NFL, it was well known that throws 10-15 yards down the middle of field was the main weakness. And yeah, in that Tampa-2 zone, your corners typically bail at the snap of the football.

And as much as we love Justin Anderson for his intensity and heart, truth is your middle linebacker needs to be much quicker and more athletic to help in pass coverage under such a scheme. Shelton Quarles during those Tampa D years was excellent as a pass coverage linebacker. Not much of a run-stopper, but in this scheme, main job of the MLB is to be able to make sure that middle area is not an easy give-a-way for the offense.

And as I type this...we now throw a Pick-6 and go down 30-0.

I agree that Hud is a good fit for our program. But I have not seen where he has the X and Os knowledge and the ability to make adjustments to succeed in the SEC.

But I agree with others. I don't think it's paranoid--I think something is going on behind the scenes.

I mean, backup quarterback and injuries notwithstanding, I don't know how else to explain this ____ poor effort.
