Haack on Traack

Haack threw seven passes this season before his appearance last week against Louisiana-Monroe. He replaced Broadway, who is one of only three quarterbacks in school history to throw for more than 5,000 yards and run for another 1,000 during a career.

Broadway is out indefinitely because of a fractured an bone above the wrist, which he suffered in the fourth quarter of last Saturday’s 31-28 loss to ULM.

UL (8-3, 5-1) needs a win over South Alabama (5-6, 3-3) to claim the school’s first outright Sun Belt Conference football championship.

A loss by the Ragin' Cajuns means that UL will share the conference championship with Arkansas State, which ended the regular season with a 5-2 league record.

This needs to be a team win. We need to get away from depending on one player. I understand the importance of the QB but we don't need to put it all on Haack. Having said that I hope he has a great game, puts up big numbers and gets the win.

As an aside, I've noticed lately that in Ardoin's stories he has stopped using "ULL". Small step in the right direction.

Hopefully this means McGuire gets the ball more now. Not doubting Haack's abilities but lets be real. Everytime the prophet touches the ball, good things happen.

Anyone know why Harris only had 4 or 5 carries Saturday night? I know ULM was loading the box to take away the inside run game but it seems like he should have had more carries than that.

He did not play at all in first quarter, im guessing he may have been suspended for quarter for misisng class or something

Also i think he may be hurt (just my opinion, i may be totally wrong) he hasnt been running the ball like he was earlier in the year

Our group was asking the same thing. Saturday needs to be the Harris and McGuire show with some Pierce sprinkled in.

Hammer, you always play to your strength. Most years it is the quarterback and receivers on offense. Now with a quarterback who has little experience, and two stud running backs, a line that is better at run blocking than pass protection, I think we will be run heavy unless we fall far behind.

Think Haack runs better than many suspect and he can be a weapon on the read option as well. I have a good feeling about him.

Haack seems to be a good runner, but not a Babb, Broadway, Gauthier, and of course Desormeaux all outstanding.
