The wait comes to an end today for UL's baseball team.
After a disappointing end last season in the NCAA College Station Regional, the Cajuns kick off the 2008 season today at the UTSA Baseball Classic in San Antonio, Texas. Last year, they reached the regional finals and was the unbeaten team going into championship Sunday. But Texas A&M won two straight games to knock off UL and advance to the Super Regional.
Since then, UL coach Tony Robichaux has made his team focus on one goal.
"What we want to do is try to get back where we were and then handle Championship Sunday better," said Robichaux, whose nationally ranked Cajuns play Army at 10 a.m. today. "We had our opponent down even though we were in their yard. We had to win one game, and we couldn't."
