What if there are 3 co-champs? Possible in this conference, happened already too. Do you know for a fact BOTH co-champs have to be placed?

Tiebreaker to who gets placed...back then there was only one bowl tie in...Arkansas State won the tie breaker and got the bid.

The fallout of pulling a tech is way worse than maybe missing a chance to play Boston college or Maryland.
The point, again, is not that we took the sure thing. The point is we did not even let the Indy Bowl present what they had to offer.

If we waited for a INDY invite, and both GoDaddy and NOLA decided that wanted to complete their bowl match-ups, doesn't that open the chance of us being bowl-less? Sure, you can say NOLA would wait for us, but would they HAVE to wait? A bird in hand is worth two in the bush, or so they say.
    To paraphrase Daniel Bryan....

    THIS!!!!!THIS!!!!!THIS!!!!!THIS!!!!!

Due to Belts funky co-champion recognition, do they have to accommodate the champion OR champions?

Benson would lobby that to get 3 teams in. Wku or Troy would go to mobile. Scary scenario would be us losing Saturday and USA getting go daddy

This is the internet. I don't believe anything I read from anyone about this. I just don't think we'll ever get the full truth and I'm highly sceptical of third parties whose interests do not align with ours.

The bed is made now. To late to ask for different sheets. Would complaining about the sheets change anything other than a reminder of how we'd like the bed dressed the next time?

If so great. If not, isn't all of this a waste of time.

That is where I see a problem. If we wait, Arkie State goes NO Bowl and then Indy doesn't offer us we wind up in a Mobile (the worst of the three options) and in effect pull a Tech-Lite.
If you buy what Benson has told the Arkansas State administration, he was working with the I-Bowl to get something concrete for UL or ASU so another SBC team would be in a bowl. The I-Bowl called UL and wanted to measure our interest before going foward with any discussions. When they called, they were told we were going to accept the NO Bowl invitation and that we had no interest. Nothing was offered because the discussions were cut off at that point concerning UL. UL had made a decision prior to that call to play in the NO Bowl. To answer your question Tony, the SBC Champion has to be placed in a bowl and the NO Bowl would have waited another week because they want UL.

Benson has told the Arkansas State administration this and right now they are not happy with Dr. Savoie because of their relationship has been very good for years and they felt we could have at least waited to accept the NO Bowl until after the last game of the season and listened to what the Indy Bowl had to offer. When it comes to SBC relations and Indy Bowl, UL is not in a very good place right now. There is no conspiracy theory here, other then Dr. Savoie wanted to play in the NO Bowl and it really didn’t matter what was offered at that point.

Who can prove this? Who else was on the phone? The Indy bowl would never lie to protect their prestige? That a sunbelt team turned them away? Benson would never lie because he is mad that we looked out for ourselves instead of the whole conference? How does anyone know for sure we didn't listen? Maybe tjoe made up his mind he was not gonna pass on Nola to wait for a maybe. Everyone is speculating. I'm the first to rip the administration but this bowl thing is tricky and being a school that has been left out do many times before..I'm surprised some are so quick to roll the dice with our post season.

Let's think about it for a sec. Why would they come out and lie to bread and butter supporters? What is in it for them to not come out and say..."guys it's New Orleans Bowl case closed." Why the bowl ticket order form with 3 choices? If you look at this and say...business as usual...I pray for you.
How do you know they lied? Isn't it Farmers job to keep all options open? What if T-Joe told him to gauge all the interest you can. Then when interest was reciprocated t-Joe said just go with the bird in hand. My version is just as plausible as yours.
My point is...you do not know anything factual. You just say things in an authoritative manner and pass it off as the most likely scenario.
One thing I know for sure is that T-Joe and Farmer know more about this situation than anyone here. I also know they are not on a quest to sabotage the University. They have all the info, where we only have a fraction of it. They are human, so they will continue to make mistakes, but I have not seen outright incompetence in them like we saw with our previous administration.
Hawk, its been fun but I gotta put up Christmas decorations. I'll try to read you rebuttals tonight.

you think indy bowl wont call back again next year. give me a break T, i know you know alot of things that go on, but bowls work very closely with each other. indy told other bowls that tech big manned them and that doesnt resonate well with other bowls and they stay home. we dont tell indy to pi$s off, but tell them "hey here's a heads up. we agreed to NOLA don't burn resources trying to get us, just trying to save you time and energy" it wasnt a public bowl snub like Tech did, and this doesn't come out except Zee's buddy out of stAte wants to say "yea, well watch this" and we have fans that look at any reason to jump on the admin and run with it.

like scott said, i'm not a fan of farmer's at all, and frankly TJoe leaves much to be desired, but this one isn't on them.

Because, despite Benson, Indy bowl decides who they want. Indy clearly doest want a SBC not nicknamed Ragin Cajuns.
