OK---Boomer's reality check----A couple of us predicted a 7-5 or 8-4 year based on our returning guys, schedule , and other factors----We wind up 9-3 or 8-4 having beaten only 2 teams with winning records and are currently ranked 68th in the country---we have come a VERY long way and I love it---BUT unless I am crazy, I think there were countless phone calls among T-Joe, Benson, HUD, Farmer, the NO Bowl, members of RCAF, Casbon, et al---Just think about it---Why wouldn't there be as this is I am sure the modus operendi of all University functions of this sort----You take in all the variables and see what the results could be and make the best choice for the university!!!By this certain seemingly important items are over ruled for others and I don't know what they might be but it very well could and should be income!!!! We already know that the formulae involved in choosing a non ACC/SEC schools for the INDY are less money which was $600k last year for a participant---$krew that!!! It will all shake out and I think judgement after facts are a better road to take!!!

Were any public officials convicted of receiving bribes?

I'm seeing contributions to pacs, parties, etc.

I haven't seen any convictions of public officials for receiving bribes.

****not public officials. UNIVERSITY OFFICIALS. Yes I'm editing for this distinction.

I reading all kinds of runaway hearsay.

How someone felt in a phone call is totally perception.

It's how they keep the charade going. Bowls are made to benefit very few. They are billed as tourist attractions and charities...when the reality is...they are good ole boy network cash machines that pay out to keep themselves operating and keep the good times rolling right along. The danger here is...did the New Orleans Bowl take a wad of cash...and shove it directly into Savoie and/or Farmer's pocket...and said "if anyone else comes along, just tell them you are spoken for." Think about it.

If Savoie and Farmer love the treatment and the pampering the New Orleans Bowl gives them and they don't want to lose their status with them...would they give the cold shoulder to any other bowls who come calling? This scenario is highly likely. Maybe friendships have been made...agreements have been agreed upon...all while the New Orleans Bowl is wining and dining our top brass. The problem is two-fold...first off...it destroys any chances of our program making any progress with any other bowls and shoe horns us into lifetime relationship with a bowl at the bottom rung of the bowl ladder. Secondly...it takes any remaining integrity our administration has...unbuckles it's belt...drops trow...and takes a massive ____ all over it. If Savoie and Farmer did a back door deal to all but guarantee that we would once again grace New Orleans with our presence...and Hud was not aware of it...we are positively 100% ____ed. No lube...right in the exit door. Hud would take the first train out of here with his ___ cheeks firmly pressed against the glass until he hits the city limits.

This is a very troubling development. And the word needs to get out. Even if there is no credence to this rumor at all...it needs to be flushed out. If you let a faulty wire go...it may burn down your house eventually. Better to tear down the sheet rock...find the faulty wire...and fix it before it all goes to ____. And where is our recourse? This is the real dirty part of this whole scenario...we have no recourse...or at least we have no recourse that doesn't end badly.

The only way to really hit Farmer and Savoie where it hurts...is to cancel your reservations...buy zero bowl tickets...and tell them to pay for their golf and spa days out of their own pocket instead of from the New Orleans Bowl's pocket. But that hurts the team...and it hurts Hud...and it screws us the fan out of another enjoyable bowl game where we get to have a weekend in party city watching our Cajuns play. So...what to do? One of these bandages is gonna have to be ripped off. Either way we need to find out the truth...hopefully Hud gets to find out the truth before we all do...he deserves to know if his own people went behind his back. And whatever happens with him...they did it to themselves.
Agree 100%. If Hudspeth wanted to hear what the I-Bowl was offering and Farmer would not give them the time of day then Farmer was not doing what is best for the University. If backroom deals were made between the administration and the Nola Bowl then there needs to be consequences for there actions.

Mr. Hudsbeth built this program from nothing, it is his show and if he wanted the I-Bowl or the Toilet Bowl then UL should of supported him from the start. If we do not support him when it comes to these type of matters he will do what is best for his career.

    Short and sweet..........

If any of you think that HUD, the CEO of this University is not sitting in on a Bowl game destination talk you are just being a moron.

Stop stirring that grease water that you are calling an EFFING gumbo and freakin realize that these rumors are snowballing out of control.

The stamp of approval comes from Huds friggin office point blank....

See ya in NOLA and quit the Shhhhhit, it's aggrivating

How could you agree 100%. Hawk just made up a bunch of stuff and put it in a post.

The following statement is just as factual as CajunHawks post:
I am hearing Hud went to Farmer last week and requested his team play in the I-bowl. Farmer said he would look into it, but the NOLA Bowl was the easiest path forward. If we went to the I-bowl we would lose a little bit of money and all of the athletic support staff would have to work over the Christmas break. Hud said give them a Christmas bonus, but Farmer did not want to set a precedent. Hud is ____ed!

Sounds good huh? I made it up just like CajunHawk did.

No, the decision to play in the NO Bowl was made at the top Dr. Savioe. The stamp of approval comes from Hud after he was told this was our best option. Those decisions are not made by the football coach here at UL.
